3/20/2024 0 Comments Coolant light e46![]() It almost was.my rad was leaking too.replaced it a month later.so if you can, better to go a little further and be done with it for 4-5 years (other than flushing every 2 years.)Īlso, when you added coolant, it sounds like you added just straight coolant.should keep it a 50/50 mix (plus or minus a little), so next time you need to add something, add distilled.and then make up a bottle of 50/50 so you don't have to worry about it. I replaced my ET, coz I saw the leak.assumed that was it. If nothing, remove underskirt and look again.Īlso, don't assume just one thing went uld've brought other things with it. If you don't otherwise see coolant leaking, turn car on and look again. If it was me, before I ordered parts, I'd find the leak.think you know that, but just thought I'd mention in case!ĭon't know how much coolant you lost but I think you're right that it wasn't from the bleeder screw. I plan to order the brass bleed screw and upper radiator hose from here:Īny problems with using a brass screw instead of the plastic? I wanted to clean off my engine area so I could see where the leak was coming from, but can’t really drive now with no bleed screw. Of course the expansion tank is a popular go to fix. So I assume I need a new bleed screw and to be safe am upper radiator hose (in case that’s stripped too).īut is this going to solve my original problem? I do not think it will since no coolant was spilling over until the bleed screw popped off. ![]() The bleed screw doesn’t want to thread back on or tighten back up. I go to loosen the bleed screw and just by touching it (literally didn't even turn it yet), it comes off (doesn’t break apart though) but lots of coolant spill out. Took off radiator cap and noticed coolant was low again. The closest is:Ĭoolant like came on, checked coolant level by only opening the cap, coolant was low. I have read through most of the threads on here regarding my situation.
